ADAPT
Settling-in and Adaptation Support

Support individuals and families through the most demanding phase of relocation by building coping capacity, resilience, and everyday stability.

Grounded in lived expatriate experience and structured change-management practice, ADAPT combines hands-on settling-in support with experience-driven adjustment guidance. I support individuals and families as they navigate essential post-arrival tasks while rebuilding routines, reducing emotional load, and regaining a sense of stability.

The focus is on making everyday life work again — both practically and emotionally — so that relocation begins to feel manageable, steady, and sustainable.

1

Settling-In Support & ongoing calibration

I provide practical, hands-on settling-in support during arrival and the first 90 days, helping reduce friction in everyday life and freeing up mental space for adjustment.

Typical support may include:

  • Registration with local authorities (Anmeldung)

  • Bank account setup

  • Driver’s licence conversion

  • Finding doctors and pharmacies

  • Applying for Kindergeld

  • Utility setup (electricity, gas, internet)

  • Introductions to local and community groups

Support is delivered as one-time service bundles or individual deliverables, and is recalibrated as needs evolve — rather than applied as a fixed, one-size-fits-all package.

Change Leadership Partner & Family Guidance

This support focuses on how people experience and respond to change once relocation pressures become real. It is especially relevant when uncertainty, resistance, or exhaustion begin to affect confidence, routines, or family dynamics.

Typical ADAPT support may include:

  • Active coping & resilience coaching
Developing practical strategies to manage stress, uncertainty, and everyday challenges.

  • Resistance management coaching
Working constructively with hesitation, frustration, or emotional pushback as it arises — without forcing positivity or speed.

  • Role & routine stabilisation
Supporting partners, parents, and children as new roles, rhythms, and responsibilities take shape.

  • Parent-as-Leaders of Change
Helping parents support children’s adjustment through emotional presence, structure, and consistency.

  • Ongoing check-ins & recalibration
Adjusting support as needs evolve rather than applying fixed or one-off solutions.

Support is delivered through a simple, structured process that keeps things practical and manageable:

  1. Clarify the current situation

  2. Identify what is holding the family back

  3. Agree on realistic actions

  4. Follow up and adjust as needed

The focus is not on “fixing” people, but on helping families regain clarity, confidence, and forward momentum in a way that feels sustainable.

Ongoing Co-Pilot Support

To support long-term adjustment after arrival, I provide ongoing co-pilot support through carefully timed check-ins and practical reinforcement.

These regular “temperature checks” help identify emerging issues early — before they escalate into stress, isolation, or dissatisfaction — and ensure that support evolves in step with real life.

What ongoing Co-Pilot support includes

  • Organisation & planning support
Helping prioritise tasks, decisions, and next steps as everyday life takes shape.

  • Task & appointment management
Support with coordination, follow-ups, and navigating local systems.

  • Support for managing change in everyday life
Working through practical and emotional adjustments as routines evolve.

  • Regular structured check-ins
Short, focused conversations to reflect, recalibrate, and move forward.

What clients experience

  • A personal relocation co-pilot — not a call centre or ticket system

  • Someone who helps handle everyday challenges calmly and efficiently

  • A structured, steady settling-in process

  • Integration support for partners and families

  • A safe space to process uncertainty, frustration, or emotional load
